I’m Gabriela Belcineanu, the maker behind ATELIERTAGLI pieces.
After graduating architecture at UAUIM Bucharest in 2016, I pursued an instinct and enrolled for a leather working course at the amazing Scuola del Cuoio, the leading academy for bespoke leather bags and accessories in Florence. The course provided the skills to turn ideas into actual products, with focus on the technical aspects of bag making: patterns and construction.
Inspired and driven, I returned home to start my own label; a brand meant to mirror an aesthetic sensibility rooted in my understanding of architecture — clean silhouettes, lack of unnecessary decor, emphasis on functionality.
Architect on a day to day basis, the appetite to construct things also reflects in my hands on approach: from handpicking the hides, creating the designs and the patterns, mixing colors and textures, to actually making the handbags. I am involved in every step of the crafting process and, truth be told, I enjoy every minute of it since working with leather is never a bore!
